           Wild Rose Dreamers Lodge

Shama is the Assistant Director of The Wild Rose Dreamers Lodge and a certified hypnotherapist, metaphysical teacher, healer and counselor in private practice for over a decade.

She graduated from Loyola University with a major in Liberal Studies and minored in Theater, Music and Psychology.  At graduation, she simultaneously completed her education and clinical training in Chemical Dependency Counseling and Hypnotherapy.  She studied Hypnotherapy with Gil Boyne and The American Council of Hypnotist Examiners 1989-1990 and obtained her certification.  She has continued these studies with Ormon McGill, David Quigly, James Maynard, Gerald Kein, and many others through ongoing continuing education at conventions, workshops and seminars year round.

Shama has studied with many respected teachers in a number of body/mind/soul therapies.  As a result, she incorporates the following teachings/methods into her practice:

    Western Psychology
    Chemical Dependency Counseling
Energy and Crystal Healing (Reike, Sekkim, Lovestream, Zenith
       & Pranic Healing)
    Tantra
    Intuitive Readings
    Aromatherapy
    Divinity Studies
    Shamanic Healing & Psychology
    Herbs & Nutrition
    Accupressure & Bodywork
    Sexual Healing

With sensitivity and compassion, she draws on these skills and creatively blends numerous disciplines in a seamless, nurturing style.  The profound gift of her intuitive awareness is shared with humor and clarity.  She has a gift in explaining very esoteric ideas in grounded and tangible terms so that they can easily be applied to normal life experiences.

She learned Crystal healing with Master Teacher, Richard Burritt who also introduced her to the concept of hands-on healing.  With his encouragement, Shama was initiated into 2nd degree Reike by John Solat, Reiki Master and completed the courses for Pranic Healing with Master Choa, learning to work with the chakras and the organs of the body through energy.  She has also completed level four of Zenith energy work with Linda Raynor, MFCC, which also uses colors and specific placement of the fingers to transmit the energy.  She has studied sound healing with Jonathan Goldman & Kabbalah Bach.

Shama began studying Tantra with Mare Simone in 1994 and has also studied with the Muirs, Bodhi Avinasha, Jwala, Steven Vogue & Anastas Harris, Lori Grace, Sri Param Eswaran and many others.

She has also studied Shamanic Psychology & healing with Lyn “Starflyer" Hopkins for the last 5 years, helping her to found The Wild Rose Dreamers Lodge  where, as Assistant Director, she co-teaches, chiefs ceremonies and rituals, acts as Lyn's Second for the Drum Team, and generally partners and offers her skills for all of their joint efforts as her talents are required.  Shama and Lyn have jointly sponsored major ceremonial events for the "12/12," The August 11th eclipse and grand cross, "Seeding The New Dream," and now for the upcoming May 5th Planetary Alignment, "Birthing The New Dream."

In addition, she has studied Shamanic sexuality with Lyn's teacher, Harley Swift Deer and his team, Ina Laughing Winds and Jamie Charles.

She currently teaches workshops, helps with the Lodge, and maintains a private practice in Granada Hills in Southern California where she successfully works with individuals and couples, as well as people in alternative lifestyles, from all over the United States and Europe.

Her new book, “The Pleasure Paradigm” is in progress, as well as a book on Tantric practice for teenagers, and a book for kids of New Age parents called, “Why Mom Isn’t Normal.”  She is also currently working on articles for the web and print, and is seeking funding for her documentary movie called "Conclave - The Goddess Next Door," exploring the lives of women who have claimed their sexuality and personal power, plus she is in the midst of the process of creating a few websites of her own.
